Births at Mulhouse zoo

There are many births at Mulhouse zoo. Every year there are about 250 to 350 births. Rare and endangered species in nature are particularly welcome. Some young animals, once weaned, can be introduced in protected zones of their original region. If not, they go to other zoos to make up other families. Genetic mixing is necessary for the animals' health and the survival of the species!

Over and above the scientific importance of the event, births are always a moment of emotion during a visit at the zoo.

Come and discover our furry, feathered or scaly newborns and see how their parents care for them! Although the spring is the most favourable time, births take place all year long in non-seasonal species.
