The Mulhouse zoological and botanic Park is the only public park, on the national level, so strongly committed to conservation programmes.
The leading tourist site in Haut-Rhin, it is also frequently visited by foreign tourists and is a partner taking a recognised professional stance.
1. The Park's collections bring together key and internationally known animal species such as: Grévy's zebra, the Asian lion, the Polar bear, the Siberian tiger, the blue-eyed lemur...
2. On the tourist and communication level, it has undoubtedly one of the most prestigious images in Alsace.
3. Every year, temporary exhibitions and events are broadly covered in the media.
4. The park has been modernised in exemplary fashion since 1968, developing its educational and conservation dimensions, as well as the breeding of endangered species, and increasing the number of its visitors.
In 2008, it received more than 335,000 visitors.
5. The Park receives 17,000 foreign visitors per year.
6. Contributing to internationally coordinated endangered species programmes, the Park sends its animals to zoos all over the world and thus participates in the promotion of its collections in the major capital cities.
7. The Park, by developing international conservation projects, effectively contributes to promote the image of its sponsors internationally: educational kits in schools in Madagascar, clothing worn by students in a "biodiversity" degree class at Tananarive University... …
8. The Park is committed to sustainable partnerships with scientifically recognised institutions.
9. The Park is an establishment of the District Community of Mulhouse Sud-Alsace, a status that allows it to develop an active resources development policy. Its annual turnover comes mainly from its own resources: half from ticket sales, 10% from the Park shop's earnings.
10. The Park is the first establishment to be committed, with the local authority, to a management by objectives, management indicator monitoring and regular reporting policy.
11. The Park's sponsorship is a separate department. Sponsors (companies, foundations and private individuals) will find a privileged interface who will answer all their demands reactively.
12. The Park has strong experience in the management of ambitious sponsorship projects. In recent years, the redevelopment of the lion enclosures and construction of the zebra stables testify to this. This experience is decisive in several areas: visibility and promotion of its partners, availability of venues for receptions, special welcome for the employees of partner companies...
